Dear Meriwether Families,

As we head into spring, I always feel a renewed sense of energy in our building. This time of year is especially important for our students, as we enter a critical window of learning, reflection, and assessment. Every instructional day truly matters. When students attend consistently, they build confidence, demonstrate growth, and show us what they know during this important assessment season. Great things happen when our Explorers are here every day.

If your child has missed several days this year, now is a wonderful time to reset and recommit to daily attendance. Even missing a few days each month can create learning gaps that are difficult to close—particularly in reading and math. If mornings are challenging for your family, please know that we are here to partner with you. We want every student walking through our doors feeling supported, capable, and ready to learn.

I encourage you to connect closely with your child’s teacher about their progress, strengths, and next steps. This is a powerful opportunity to celebrate growth and set goals for a strong finish to the school year.

We are also excited to welcome our newest Explorers! Kindergarten Registration is now open. If you have a child who will be five years old by August 31, please visit the Clover Park School District enrollment page to begin the process. Our caring educators and welcoming classrooms are ready to build a strong academic foundation for your child’s learning journey.

To stay connected, be sure your ParentSquare account is activated and download the app if you haven’t already. ParentSquare allows you to receive school updates in one convenient place and will soon provide the ability to message your child’s teacher directly in your preferred language. Clear communication between home and school is one of the most powerful ways we support student success.

You can also support learning at home through the Clever Portal on the Student Page. Programs such as Freckle, Code.org, Khan Academy, Rosetta Stone, Literacy Pro, and more are available to help students reinforce skills and stay engaged.

Thank you for your partnership, your trust, and your commitment to our students. Spring is a season of growth—and I am so proud of the growth I see in our Meriwether Explorers each and every day.

Your Proud Principal,
Ms. Wimberly
