Meriwether Principal Leila Davis

Hello Meriwether Families!

It’s hard to believe we are just about through November and getting into the holiday season.

Parent-teacher conferences were a huge success.  We conferenced with 98% of our students.  That is awesome.  We’d love to make it 100% so if you are one of the few who couldn’t make it, please reach out to your student’s teacher and we can still do one.

Thanksgiving break is fast approaching.  Students are released at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, November 24.  Enjoy the long weekend with friends and family.

December is almost here, and winter break is right around the corner. Please be sure students are dressed for the colder weather.  We do go outside for recess even if it’s cold, so a warm coat is a must.  Winter Break begins on Dec. 20.  School resumes on Jan. 3, 2022.  Enjoy a safe and relaxing Holiday with your family!

Student safety is critical. Please use the drop off loop instead of the parking lot for dropping kids off in the morning.  It is dark and often rainy in the morning which impacts visibility.  We do not want students walking through the parking lot and having cars backing up around them.  We also need to allow for visitor and staff parking services which is being interrupted by drop offs. If you are coming into the school, please, by all means feel free to park and come in, but if you are just dropping your student(s), please use the loop instead of the parking lot. We appreciate your support in making all areas of our school safe.

As always, please contact us when questions or concerns come up. Meriwether prides itself on providing strong partnerships between our teachers, school administration and our students and their families.
