Meriwether Principal Leila Davis

As you now know, Washington’s Governor Jay Inslee mandated that all schools remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year to help stop the spread of coronavirus COVID-19 in our region.

A list of these services is available through the “School Closure Resources” link on our website’s homepage, as well on Clover Park School District’s homepage.

Daily Meal Distribution: Free meals are offered to ALL children 18 and younger during this closure! Our buses will stop once daily at 65+ locations throughout Lakewood and JBLM to pass out two meals: lunch for that day, as well as breakfast for the following morning. Please see a specific list and map according to location and time through the “School Closure Resources” link.

Continued Learning Packets: Every Wednesday Continued Learning Packets will be provided at the Meal Distribution sites. These packets will include activities and resources that will be used during our Remote Learning in Teams/O365, they can be accessed online as well as. These packets are not for students to turn in, but instead for them to continue their learning with the remote instruction.

Remote Learning with Teams/O365: Remote learning has been launched and while there are always a few challenges that pop up- it is smoother each time students meet with their teachers. If you do not have computer or internet access, please call the district at (253) 583-5000. Additionally, if you are having technical challenges or need assistance, please reach out to your child’s teacher or call the district IT desk at (253) 583-5110.

Trimester 3 Grading: Trimester 3 report cards will be mailed home June 26, 2020. Students will find that their Trimester 2 Report Card marks will carry forward to Trimester 3. In addition, the Reading at Grade Level mark will also remain the same as Trimester 2. Students who received a N, D, or I in Trimester 2 will have the opportunity to improve their grade through Trimester 3.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have additional questions.

Thank you for your partnership in your child’s learning. We realize this is a challenge, and we are learning as we go in this new model of learning.

Stay Home, Stay Safe, Be Well!
